FRANKLIN THE TURTLE VISITS THE COUNTY
Wellington United Church Thursday May 18, 9 - 11:30am

KINDERGARTEN READINESS -early learning activities for children 3 - 5 years and their parents/caregivers.

Wellington Town Hall Tuesdays 1 - 3pm.

NEW PROGRAM WEST LAKE - intergenerational playgroup

West Lake Terrance Nursing Home Every other Thursday 9:30-11:15am.

BUSY FEET FAMILY NIGHT - motor skills development for children 2-6 years and their parents/caregivers.

Queen Elizabeth School, Picton Thursday evenings 5-7pm.
During the summer Busy feet will be held at the Recreation Outreach Centre

NEW MAIN STREET LOCATION -playgroup for children 0-6 years and their parents/caregivers

THE CHILDREN'S RESOURCE FAIR

This year's fair October 14, 2005 at the Armory Mall was a great success with 35 adults and 72 students visiting and completing the passports.

The delightful Grade 7 and 8 students were from the Queen Elizabeth School, Picton and following the Fair the Principal wrote: "Thank you : Our students and teachers came back to the school excited and energized. The draw prizes were way beyond our expectations. We value the opportunity."

Prince Edward Association for Community Living

Community Living Prince Edward: Provides support to families and individuals including Infants, Preschoolers, School-age, Teenagers, and Adults. A variety of programs such as Resource Consultant Program, Family Support, Private Speech Clinic, Behaviour Intervention Program, Child Care Support, Transition into Kindergarten, Transition into High School, Transition into the work force, Assistance with Funding Applications, Parent Support Groups, Training, & Workshops are offered. The Association provides a number of supports and residential services for adults as well.

Hastings & Prince Edward Health Unit - Picton Branch: Prenatal Programs: Welcome to Pregnancy - targets parents earlier in pregnancy, Breast Feeding, Baby Basics, Parenting Program 'Caring for Your Baby'. Healthy Babies, Healthy Children

Prince Edward Child Care services

Prince Edward Child Care Services: Licensed Child Care - ages birth to 12 years. Prince Edward Day Care Centre, Ontario Early Years Centre, Home Child Care, Queen Elizabeth Preschool, Lakeshore Preschool, Queen Elizabeth Before & After School Program, Pinecrest After School Program. Resource Centre - adult-child oriented resources, information and support. Structured Playgroups, Mobile Toy Lending Library, Drop-ins, Caregiver Education, Parenting Resources and Workshops, Child Care Registry, Children's Literacy Resources, Relief Child Care.

County of Prince Edward Public Library: Branches located in Ameliasburgh, Bloomfield, Picton, Consecon, Wellington and Milford. All branches have special programmes, videos, board books, picture books, easy reading, young readers fiction and non-fiction especially selected for children and young adults. Each branch offers free supervised internet access

Loyola

Loyola: Services offered include Individual Instruction, Adult Learning Environment, Personal and Academic Support, Personal Growth and Development Counselling, Official Ontario Secondary School Diploma, Computer Courses, Secondary School Credits, Building Self-esteem and feelings of satisfaction and self respect A Child-minding room is also available for all teen MOMS

LEAP: Learning, Earning and Parenting is a program that assists young parents aged 16-21 to: complete high school, achieve economic independence, develop parenting skills, foster healthy child development and give children a better start in life. Financial assistance for child care is available to parents who are involved in Ontario Works activities.
